Este curso ofrece un panorama de las tendencias más recientes en el género documental cinematográfico en América Latina prestando atención a cuestiones migratorias, desigualdad social, luchas por los derechos humanos, procesos de reconstrucción de testimonios y elaboración de la memoria histórica, desplazamiento y explotación de la población indígena, así como represión política y militar. Teniendo en cuenta el acceso a nuevas tecnologías para crear documentales, se explorará el significado de "documentar América Latina" en la época global a través de producciones internacionales, locales, e independientes.

This course counts as elective credit for the Spanish minor.
