Other Course Info:
Interdisciplinary seminar required for all senior majors.

Primary Instructor:

The Women’s Studies Senior Capstone is an interdisciplinary seminar required for all senior majors. It is designed to help graduating seniors look back, synthesizing what they have learned in Women’s Studies, and look ahead, envisioning how they might apply their knowledge and experience in post-graduate lives and careers. We will explore this topic through relevant readings, discussions, arts-based work, writing assignments, as well as guest speakers from the U-M and larger community. We recognize that the time just before graduation is a time of excitement and uncertainty both, and that many students find that uncertainty anxiety inducing. We also see this time as an opportunity to learn how to sit with your uncertainty and explore how best to use your education to make a life that reflects your values and has an impact on the community.

Course Requirements:

Active and informed seminar participation: 25%, assignments: 75%, with a range of small projects and reports, including a final project aligned with your chosen way of working in the world.
