Primary Instructor:

This course in Macroeconomics deals with the determination of broad economic aggregates such as national income, employment, the price level, and the Balance of Payments in both the short run and the long run. Aspects of the microfoundations of Macroeconomics will also be presented. Rigorous analysis — including calculus! — is used to understand the forces that determine aggregate economic variables, and how they are affected by public policies. These methods will also be used to understand the consumption, investment, and labor supply choices of households and firms.
