Primary Instructor:

This intensive introduction to elementary Latin covers the essentials of Latin 101 and Latin 102 and prepares students to advance rapidly toward upper level courses. Students will learn the essential morphological, grammatical, and syntactical structures of the language and will build a core vocabulary. Learning will be enhanced by oral activities. Through readings and discussion students will be introduced to significant aspects of Roman history and culture.

Course Requirements:

Students with a serious interest in Latin who want to advance rapidly towards upper level courses

Intended Audience:

Preparation of daily assignments, frequent quizzes, a midterm, and final exam

Class Format:

Four meetings per week (recitation)
