Description

Entertainment and literature merge through the serial fiction podcast, a form of storytelling that has gained popularity recently. In this course, we will analyze fiction podcasts such as Alice Isn't Dead, Homecoming, and Welcome to Night Vale in order to create our own original podcasts. Through writing exercises, workshops, in-class activities, and listening parties, students in small groups will write and record three 5-minute long episodes that link together to form a serial podcast. Assignments include required listenings, peer reviews, and a final project.

Course Requirements:

Attend class weekly, complete brief assignments, and participate in our online and in-class discussions.

Intended Audience:

Honors students in their first year at the University of Michigan
