The Art of the Photo Essay is a 7-week course designed to help students take, edit, and compose with photographic images. Throughout the semester students will compose and refine three separate photo essays, as well as work collaboratively on one group project.
Course Requirements:
Students will be required to attend virtual classes as well as complete any assignments listed in the course canvas. Students will be using Photoshop, Lightroom, and WordPress. It is recommended that students take advantage of the University's Adobe Creative Cloud license on their personal computers, or at the very least take advantage of Adobe-enabled University computers when allowable.
Students will be assessed on the quality of two longitudinal projects: a personal essay portfolio and a collaborative group exhibition.
Intended Audience:
All students interested in photography, narrative, and visual arts.
Class Format:
This course will meet virtually on Fridays 1-3 pm.
