Description

This course will focus on topics in thermodynamics and kinetics that govern chemical reactivity, including discussion of both the underlying fundamental principles as well as the experimental techniques that aid in elucidating reaction mechanisms.

Course Requirements:

Your grade will be based on problem sets (15%), quizzes (25%), a project (25%), and exams (35%).

Intended Audience:

Special topics course meant to transition undergraduates or graduate students from 215 to either 540 (the graduate physical organic course) or to 420 (the undergraduate organic synthesis class).
