PHYSICS 401 and [MATH 216 or 256 or 286 or 296 or 316]. Some familiarity with a computer language.

This course counts toward the 60 credits of math/science required for a Bachelor of Science degree.

Description

An introduction to the solution of physics problems using computers. Assuming no previous computer programming experience, the course will introduce the techniques and programming skills of computational physics and apply them to problems in quantum mechanics, atomic physics, astrophysics, condensed matter, nonlinear dynamics and chaos, biophysics, and other areas.
