ASIANLAN 245 is a continuation course of ASIANLAN 146. This is a continuing proficiency-based course that refines and expands previously acquired language skills in a culturally authentic context in Punjabi. We will focus on expanding vocabulary, mastering more complex grammatical structures, and acquiring idiomatic expressions. Content and supporting language structures and vocabulary will be theme-based, with outcomes measured in a variety of ways, including task-based activities that support effective communication around the theme.

By the end of the semester, students will be able to:

  • carry out all communicative tasks from the previous semester with greater ease and sophistication.
  • students can participate in more extended conversations about daily life, their surrounding environment, shopping with different vendors, health issues and diet, travel, food, past experiences, future plans, and occupations.
  • talk about your own/other interests and give suggestions/advice.
  • express emotions and opinions in a culturally appropriate manner.
