BIOLOGY 173 is a one-term project-based laboratory course that with BIOLOGY 171 and 172 forms the introductory biology sequence.
The aims of BIOLOGY 173 are:
- to provide an integrated introduction to experimental biology;
- to foster hypothesis-testing and analytical approaches to experimental data; and
- to develop critical-thinking and writing skills.
Topics in BIOLOGY 173 are divided among four primary areas:
- Biochemistry
- Molecular genetics
- Evolution
- Ecology
Intended Audience:
It is intended for majors in biology, other science programs, or pre-professional studies. Other suitably prepared students wishing detailed coverage of biology are welcome.
