Description

In this class, we will use journalism approaches that are sensitive to social justice to write stories that break the isolation and provide healing to the community. We will work with theories of Peace Journalism (aims to make visible less visible causes of conflicts or problems, seeks to approach reality from all parties involved when there is conflict, pursues solutions rather than emphasizing conflict) and Solutions Journalism (which is reporting on a response to a problem — successful, partially successful, or failed — and the associated results, usually with a narrative that seeks to reveal how the results were produced and explore what can be learned from the effort).
