This seminar will introduce students to methods required to do economic research and will guide students through the design, execution, and writing of an independent research project. The topic of the research project will be some aspect of the covid pandemic for the macroeconomy. The covid pandemic is arguably the largest exogenous shock to the global economy in the last century and affected all aspects of economic activity, including the responses of consumption and saving, fiscal policy, international trade flows, stock returns, and unemployment.
