Enforced Prerequisites:
BIOLOGY 222 or 225; and one of: BIOLOGY 305 or Biochemistry (MCDB 310, BIOLCHEM 415, or CHEM 351).
Advisory Prerequisites:
Biochemistry experience is recommended.
BS:
This course counts toward the 60 credits of math/science required for a Bachelor of Science degree.
Repeatability:
May not be repeated for credit.

Description

This course presents a detailed understanding of the neurobiology of the neuronal connections (synapses) and a variety of synaptopathies and psychiatric diseases (diseases related to dysfunction of synapses). This course also provides students with exposure to experimental designs that produced our current knowledge in the field.
