Description

Organization of ship design. Preliminary design methods for sizing and form; powering, maneuvering, and sea-keeping estimation; arranging; propulsion; structural synthesis; and safety and environmental risk of ships. Extensive use of design computer environment. Given owner's requirements, students individually create and report the conceptual/preliminary design for a displacement ship.
