Description

This is an introductory course for students with no previous knowledge of Russian language. The course structure provides a balanced approach integrating all four language skills with emphasis on the firm control of the sound system. Structure of Russian is introduced in a cultural context via films, cartoons, songs, food, and games.

Intended Audience:

Not intended for heritage speakers of Russian who are advised to enroll in RUSSIAN 125 or contact the Department.

Class Format:

Students participate in language immersion in class as well as by participating in special events: guest lectures, Russian poetry day, phonetics workshop, Russian tea, and animated film screening.
