This topics course is designed to improve the speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills of students through environmental and socially committed themes developed in the Hispanic world/realities. The class aims to evaluate and compare events and contexts in Spanish-speaking countries as well as in the United States, by making connections and facilitating intentional and thorough critical thinking in the target language. Moreover, this course will provide the students with a platform that will allow them to observe and discuss meaningful and transcendent issues fully in Spanish, with the ultimate goal of preparing them for the next level of linguistic competence and cultural awareness, therefore becoming more conscious global citizens.
Successfully completing Spanish 231 Ecología y Activismo would help students to qualify for the Excellence in Sustainability Honors Cord Program. More info here: Sustainability Honors Cord | Planet Blue Campus
