The Residential College is part of LSA, and its courses and majors are open to all LSA students. The RC offers a small liberal arts college experience within the larger research university with courses in languages, interdisciplinary arts and literature, studio arts, social application of the sciences, creative writing, music, and more. The RC offers primarily small seminar-style courses, averaging about 20 students in each class, held in East Quadrangle. We offer majors that give students much latitude in designing their own program, and those majors are Drama, Arts and Ideas in the Humanities, Creative Writing and Literature, Social Theory and Practice, and the Individualized Major Program.
