The Sweetland Center for Writing aims to help writers become more confident, skilled, and knowledgeable about writing and the subjects they write about. Sweetland faculty and peer tutors supplement formal writing instruction in the Writing Workshop, Peer Tutoring Center, the Online Writing Lab (OWL), and the Synchronous Online Writing Lab (SyncOWL).
Students who want to be admitted to a closed WRITING course should add themselves to the waitlist and attend the first day of class. Once a seat is available, students will receive permission to register via email. Once class permission is granted, students will have 48 hours to register for the class. If students do not register within 48 hours, they lose their place on the waitlist and the next priority student will be issued permission to register.
Students are notified based upon a variety of criteria depending upon which class they have waitlisted.
Please note: It is department policy that students MUST attend the first two class meetings or notify the instructor that they will be absent. Failure to do so may result in the student being dropped from the course.
