Exchange and Visiting Scholar Opportunities

Faculty exchange and visiting scholar opportunities exist for University of Michigan faculty at the following partner institutions:

Bogazici University, Turkey

UM & Boğaziçi may exchange faculty w/ sabbatical leave or leave of absence. Shorter-term faculty visits for research OR instruction may be organized on shorter notice w/ the approval of the host university. The institutions consent to facilitate visits for purposes of teaching during summer sessions or the academic year.

Doshisha University, Japan

Visiting faculty will be considered a "Doshisha Visiting Scholar."

Ewha Womans University, Korea

Faculty exchanges may encompass teaching and/or cooperative research.

University of Freiburg, Germany

Mutually beneficial faculty visits and exchanges will be facilitated to the extent possible.

University of Geneva, Switzerland

Faculty & researchers are encouraged to go to each other's institutions. Travel will be covered by institution of origin and host dept will provide assistance for obtaining housing.

Japan Center for Michigan Universities, Japan

Arrangements made w/ JCMU coordinator 120 days prior to departure; faculty and administrators chosen on a rotating basis.

University of Johannesburg, South Africa

The number, timing and duration of faculty & researchers may vary according to the needs of the particular program.

University of Seville, Spain

Yearly members in this consortium exchange program may designate one or more faculty members to participate in reciprocal exchanges of researchers or professors. The must be approved by the host institution & take place one semester or the academic year.
