Spring Language Study allows students to complete their third and fourth term language requirement in one intensive half term.  Students deepen their comfort and fluency in a non-English language through direct immersion as they live with host families and/or participate in internship/volunteer placements. 


Instructor, Language Study

The successful candidate will be expected to teach French 230, an intensive 8 credit-hour course.  The instructor will develop a syllabus, review grades, and hold regular office hours for students. The instructor will also help plan and attend course-related excursions and activities. The appointment for this position will be made through the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan. Applicants must have home department approval to be considered.


Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have native, or near-native fluency in French, as well as prior experience teaching French language courses, preferably in the University of Michigan’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. Advanced study beyond the Master’s level. Ability to work effectively with program director and participants. Commitment to experiential field learning.
