ABOUT CGISAngell Hall at the University of Michigan

G155 Angell Hall
435 S. State St.
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1003

Established in July 2009, the Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) was created to provide a wide variety of global engagement and learning opportunities to the University of Michigan community. CGIS programming serves students with diverse academic interests at sites on every continent, international and domestic.

Programs: CGIS staff support student participation in four different program areas: Michigan Global Academic Programs, Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates, Spring/Summer Language Study, and Global Course Connections.

CGIS also offers administrative and academic support to departments and units across campus hoping to launch their own individualized programs. For more information regarding all global opportunities at the University of Michigan, visit the U-M global portal.

EXPLORE CGIS THROUGH M-COMPASS

The Center for Global and Intercultural Study program-search functionality and program application process is now available on M-Compass. M-Compass is a website where students can search and apply for study abroad programs – and much more. This first iteration of M-Compass includes participation by five University of Michigan units: the Center for Global and Intercultural Study, International Programs in Engineering, the Medical School Global REACH, the School of Art & Design, and the School of Kinesiology.
