Guide to Choosing a Program

CGIS offers a wide variety of programs in over 50 different countries, both English-speaking and non-English-speaking, on every inhabited continent.

Here's the short version:

  • Studying French, Spanish, Italian, or Mandarin? Check out Spring/Summer Language Study for total linguistic immersion.
  • Interested in developing relationships with and learning from host communities, expanding your worldview through intensive intercultural curricula? Check out GIEU, our 3-4 week service learning experienceit's not your everyday study abroad program!
  • Short on time and enthusiastic about learning outside the classroom? Global Course Connections are study abroad experiences that usually take place over spring term, and are connected to specific U-M classes.
  • Are you looking for a traditional study abroad experience, where you take classes at a foreign university for a semester or a year? Check out Michigan Global Academic Programs!

Of course, the best way to figure out what program fits your needs is attending a RSGG session.

Make sure to check our calendar page for upcoming info sessions and other opportunities!
