  Mara earned a B.A. in Classical Civilization and in History from UCLA in 2010, where she
  wrote an honors thesis exploring the conceptions of Perikles as a tyrant in fifth-century Athens.
  She then entered the post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania. Her interests include Greek history and historiography, Greek tragedy, and Augustan Age poetry.
