PhD in Classical Studies
435 S State St, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1003
Amy received her B.A. in Classical Languages from the University of California, Berkeley, in
2008. She then worked for a few years in the financial industry, just to mix things up a bit, and
then returned to the study of the glorious and wondrous field that is Classics. She intends to work on Greek Tragedy in some capacity and is interested both in tragedy in its ancient context as well as modern reception and performance (and received rave reviews for her depiction of the Nurse and Artemis in UC Berkeley's production of Hippolytus in Ancient Greek). She is currently also studying Senecan tragedy and symposium literature and dabbles in ancient philosophy, though the prospect of focusing entirely on it often terrifies her. She is also Graduate Student Liaison for the Women's Classical Caucus and spends her "free time" refereeing sports, singing karaoke, and beating the rest of the graduate students in games of pickup basketball.
