  • About

Nick received his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 2010. His research is primarily focused upon the idea of monumentality in Roman literature and its reception in Renaissance Italy and beyond. Nick’s dissertation explores in particular the different ways that Horace, Vergil, and Ovid both reflect and help fashion how their contemporaries read Rome’s metamorphosis into a city of marble monuments under Augustus.

When not contemplating the dialogue between architecture and texts in Rome, Nick enjoys going for runs at dawn in the snow, rock-climbing in shoes much too small for his feet, and a good cup of warm (caffeine-free) tea no matter what the season.
