Last month we reported that our developers were working on a number of things that happen out of the public eye. One of the recent tasks was an "Upgraded Jenkins".
What is Jenkins?
In a nutshell Jenkins CI is the leading open-source continuous integration server. Built with Java, it provides over 400 plugins to support building and testing virtually any project.
We use Jenkins to help us understand how our various code changes are synchronizing between developers and our servers.
CMS Editor Entries (...we can tell you about)
Jenkins is a kind of server. —JoAnn Peraino, Dean's Office
Uploads music & software. —Jeri Preston, Honors Program
Well, I never knew his name was Jenkins, but he's the guy who sits outside the UGLY playing his harmonica. He's on the payroll at LSA-CMS for providing tranquility because any time anyone there has had too much, they walk over to the plaza outside the library and listen to Jenkins (it was easier when you were in West Hall). I'm guessing he was upgraded from Communications Assistant to Communications Specialist. Because now he plays knee cymbals, too? —Alica Farmer, U-M Biological Station
And The Winner Is...
We are pleased to announce that we are awarding a snazzy, neoprene OpenText lap top case to each of the above entrants! Congratulations, JoAnn, Jeri, and Alicia.
