Krysha is an empirical political communication researcher who employs multiple methodological approaches to investigate how the contemporary mass media environment affects the way citizens acquire, process and interpret political information. In her dissertation, she incorporates socio-psychological theories of humor into a model of humor-triggered cognition which predicts that the patterns of cognitive processing and engagement associated with comprehending and appreciating political comedy boost learning and enhance ideological constraint. In addition to her research pursuits, Krysha enjoys teaching courses in political communication, public opinion, media effects and social science research methods. She currently lives in the D.C. metro area and hopes to continue her work in an academic or private sector setting.
