Eligibility
Eligibility requirements are set by the college. GELS is intended for faculty and graduate students doing ongoing research on issues important to the humanities (including contributions by the Arts and Social Sciences), for example, debates that concern literary, cultural, aesthetic, ethical, and political questions, among others. Only full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply. Lecturers and adjunct faculty are not eligible. Graduate student applicants must be full-time students and have fulfilled candidacy requirements by the application dead line. The selection committee will not normally award a GELS fellowship to an applicant who has held one during one of five previous academic years.
