A Comprehensive Program for Student Academic Development

The Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) is an academic unit within the College of Literature, Science and the Arts that offers a variety of academic support services, including the Summer Bridge Program, academic year course instruction, academic advising and peer advising, tutoring, and freshmen interest groups. CSP works closely with a wide variety of academic departments, offices and programs throughout the university, including offices in the various schools and colleges, the Undergraduate Admissions Office, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Division of Student Affairs.

Mission: It is the mission of CSP to support, academically enrich, and retain students at The University of Michigan who show outstanding potential for a Michigan education.

SELECTION PROCESS: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions selects most of the CSP students when they are admitted to the University. However, because of the popularity of the Program many students apply and become "Affiliates." Students also may join CSP either by writing a letter directly to UAO during the admissions process requesting to participate in CSP programs or by completing a program affiliation form after matriculation.
