Melissa is an alumnus of the University of Michigan with a degree in Sport Management and Communication from the School of Kinesiology. She received her Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Higher Education Student Affairs. She spent the time post undergrad working in the field of sports, fitness and business. She worked for companies such as the NBA Chicago Bulls, Fox Sports Net Chicago and various other sport and entertainment companies. She helped to open several successful fitness studios in New York City called Physique 57. She realized her passion was back in education when she returned to obtain her master’s degree. She has worked in the realm of academic advising for the University of Michigan since 2008 spending her time in the athletic department, the School of Kinesiology and CSP.
