April 2008
Director's Corner, by William Collins
CSP takes this opportunity to salute graduating seniors in the Class of 2008! As a result of their sustained good work, we anticipate that about 430 CSP students will earn their first degree from the University of Michigan as members of the Class of 2008. We know you have accomplished much during your years here and we wish you every success in the future, be it in the work world or in graduate or professional school. Congratulations to each of you!
Younger students may benefit from the insights that seniors have to share, so we advise you to take it upon yourselves to talk to seniors about their experiences and the strategies they used during their years at Michigan that contributed to their success. You also should be in contact with your academic advisor to plan your schedule for next year and to review your progress toward degree in order to assure that you will be among the graduates of the future.
Winter term 2008 is fast approaching its end; with that in mind, we want to urge all students to plan appropriately for the demands of the last few weeks of the semester. Time-management is critically important at this time of year, so review your commitments and obligations, and prepare a schedule for the remainder of the academic year that will allow you to meet all your goals. In addition to your academic advisor, you may want to consult course professors, GSIs, or study group members to make sure that you stay current with all course assignments and requirements. Doing so will be an important component of your success.
Good Luck!
"Education should be as gradual as the moonrise, perceptible not in progress, but in result."
