Academic Advising in DAAS
DAAS offers dual advising options for our students. Students are always welcome to seek advising by dropping by the department during posted advising hours or by making an appointment with an advisor. Students are also encouraged to relax or study in the Lemuel Johnson Center (room 5511) and to attend DAAS community events where our advisors are often present.
Scott Ellsworth, Academic Advisor
As an academic advisor in DAAS, Professor Scott Ellsworth is available to mentor students and to assist students on a range of issues, including concentration and course options in DAAS, study habits and strategies, career planning and applications, resume feedback, internship feedback, and general academic support. Professor Ellsworth works closely with the Student Services Coordinator to ensure that students have access to a wide range of information.

Katherine Weathers, Student Services Coordinator
As a student services advisor in DAAS, Katherine Weathers is available to answer students’ questions about the DAAS concentration and course offerings. She enrolls students in the DAAS major/minor and offers suggestions for course selection based on concentration requirements and student interests. Ms. Weathers maintains the forms and database for DAAS concentrators and minors and can help direct students to other members of the DAAS faculty or staff for additional support as necessary.

Megan Sweeney, Director of Undergraduate Studies
As Director of Undergraduate Studies in DAAS, Professor Megan Sweeney oversees undergraduate curricular matters. She is available to listen to students’ concerns, questions, and suggestions about courses and advising, and she is available as an additional source of academic advising support in the unit.
