About Richard Porter
Professor (Emeritus) Porter has long worked on environmental problems of both developing and industrial economies. His special interests are the provision of urban amenities in Third World cities -- who gets what, how, and at what price, by way of drinking water, sewage disposal, and solid waste collection. In industrialized countries, his special interest are the external costs and hidden subsidies involved in vehicle use and waste disposal.
