    Jim Adams studies the sources and uses of market power, the European Union, and the French economy.  He has held visiting teaching positions at Harvard, Aix-Marseille, Paris-Dauphine, Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne, the European University Institute in Florence, and Basel.  He has been affiliated with the Brookings Institution in Washington and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations.  He has advised the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Ambassador to France, and several foreign policy departments of the U.S. government.  At Michigan, Adams has been Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Director of the Program in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and Director of the Center for West European Studies.

    Currently, he is working on “New Prescriptions for the Pharmaceutical Industry.”
