    Ihsan Erman Saracgil is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the University of Michigan. His research interests are financial economics and economic theory. His research focuses on understanding the financial leverage decisions of the firms and the households. His completed work analyzes the determinants of capital structure in the banking sector and provides new insights about the recent financial regulations such as Basel III. His ongoing work includes a decision framework to study household debt accumulation with implications on consumption-savings portfolios and asset pricing. Prior to starting his Ph.D. Mr. Saracgil received a BS in business administration and MA in economics from Bilkent University, Turkey.
