Research interests

My area of study is in evolution and microbiology. I am interested in host-microbe interactions and how different types of interactions evolve. Specifically, I work on bioluminescent symbiosis, the symbiotic relationship between luminescent bacteria and ocean fish. I will be addressing questions about why facultative verses obligate interactions form in this system.
