As you go away for the summer to your field site, or work in the lab, snap a photo of yourself collecting samples, or have a friend videotape you as you explain a simulation on your computer—capture yourself involved in your research or out at lab activities or dissertation parties! When you come back in the fall, submit the best photos and videos of yourself and fellow EEB colleagues. The department will vote and determine the best photos and videos, and three winners will receive prizes!
Remember, we want to be able to clearly see your face in the photos and videos! Have friends or colleagues handle the camera for you in order to grab those great shots. Only have your cell phone’s camera to snag those photos or videos? Not a problem! Just email them to eeb.gradcoord@umich.edu. All submissions will become part of the EEB digital library, which may be used on the website or for print materials.
There is no limit on the number of submissions. For photos, we can accept hardcopy prints, slides, or digital files. Submitted hardcopy prints and slides will be scanned by the department and then returned to the student or faculty member. Digital files should be a minimum of 4x6” and 200dpi, and preferably a .tiff or .jpg. For videos, the length should be no longer than 2 minutes, and files should be QuickTime, AVI, or MPEG.
Submissions should be received by the Graduate Office by Monday, September 8. Voting will occur through the end of September, and the winners will be announced by Monday, October 6. In addition to being featured on the website, three winners will also receive prizes. |
