EEB events: Early Career Scientists Symposium
Infectious disease across scales: the complexity of pathogen ecology and evolution.
The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan will be hosting the seventh Early Career Scientists Symposium on infectious disease ecology and evolution. This exciting symposium will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday, April 16, 2011. The theme is "Infectious disease across scales: the complexity of pathogen ecology and evolution." Eight outstanding early career scientists from across the U.S. and abroad will address diverse ecological and evolutionary aspects of host-pathogen and -parasite systems from within individual hosts to the broad community of multiple hosts and pathogens. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Steven Frank of the University of California at Irvine, who will describe "Three unsolved puzzles in infectious disease."
Location: Blau Auditorium, Ross School of Business
