Sandra Steingraber, a U-M Biology Ph.D. alumna (1989), will receive the prestigious Athena Award. Dr. Steingraber will present a public lecture, discussing her highly acclaimed book, “Living Downstream: An Ecologist Looks at Cancer and the Environment.” The book was recently adapted to a movie and she will show clips during her discussion. The award is presented by the Alumnae Council of U-M. Professor John Vandermeer will introduce Steingraber. Watch for an alumna profile on Steingraber coming soon.
