Fields of study
Behavioral ecology, reproduction, and biodiversity in fishes.
Research interests
My current research focuses on describing the developmental, functional, and evolutionary aspects of socially controlled sex determination in fishes.
Academic background
I earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Toledo in 2000. This work also included courses and research at Bowling Green State University. I came to Michigan immediately after and spent my first year in the masters program. I spent the summer of 2001 at the University of Glasgow (Scotland) before entering Michigan's Ph.D. program that fall.
