Research interests

My research interests are in evolution and conservation biology.  I am particularly interested in (1) the adaptive significance of genetic diversity, (2) how increased population fragmentation and isolation influences population processes at both temporal and spatial scales, and (3) the accuracy of methods in recovering such processes at or below the species level.  I use a combination of molecular techniques and demographic observations to investigate the effects of contemporary and historic population processes on population structure, diversity, and viability.
