The Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies was founded in 2004 as an intellectual center where faculty, graduate students, and outside visitors examine and discuss current analytical and methodological issues in the field of history. Distinguished guests are invited to present at the Thursday Speakers Series, which constitutes the core of the Institute’s scholarly program. Guests present lectures or participate in seminars or colloquia, often around a defined theme. The Institute also sponsors the Friday Workshop Series, a forum for graduate students to consider issues related to historical teaching and research. The Institute welcomes a number of internal fellows and visiting scholars each year to participate in its program.
