Institute Names New Visiting Scholars to Affiliate Program

The Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies has named three new visiting scholars to its affiliate program. These individuals will join the Institute's intellectual community and work on defined research projects while in residence in Ann Arbor. New affiliates include:

Beatriz Mamigonian, Professor, History, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina 
Project: "The Registers of Africans: The Imperial State and the Frontiers of Slavery and Freedom in Nineteenth-Century Brazil"
Residency: September 2014-February 2015

Joan H. Neuberger, Professor, History, University of Texas at Austin
Project: "This Thing of Darkness: Eisenstein’s 'Ivan the Terrible' in Stalin’s Russia"
Residency: August 2014-May 2015

Kristofer Ray, Associate Professor, History, Austin Peay State University
Project: "Cherokees, Europeans, and Empire in the Tennessee Corridor, 1670-1763”
Residency: May-August 2014
