Deborah joined the ELI as a lecturer in 2005. At the ELI, she has taught courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) training and service learning. Since 2007, she has coordinated and taught in the Migrant Farmworker Outreach and Education Program for the ELI.
Before joining the ELI, she taught general EAP and specialized English courses at the University of Bologna for over eleven years. At the University of Bologna, in addition to her teaching responsibilities, she coordinated a computer-assisted language learning program and designed software for self study. She also coordinated the English proficiency exams for one of the departments at the university.
