Carolyn G. Madden is Director of Instructional Division of the ELI and senior lecturer. Her effort at the ELI includes promoting and developing programs around campus for international students and overseeing the curriculum and faculty development of the English for Academic Purposes Program.
She is also involved in teacher training with the School of Education and through service learning opportunities on campus. Carolyn received her BA in linguistics at Queens College and her MA at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
She has also recently completed a law degree from Wayne State University Law School. She has authored two ESL texts, co-edited second language acquisition research volumes, and written numerous articles on second language teaching and learning.
