Workshops

The ELI offers a variety of workshops of interest to nonnative speaking students and scholars at the University of Michigan. Usually workshops are given during Spring semester, but may be offered throughout the year. Each workshop is typically two hours long, and topics are varied.

The following are just a few of the workshop topics offered in the past:

  • job interview skills
  • intercultural communication
  • asking questions in academic contexts
  • pronunciation essentials
  • telephone talk
  • world Englishes and academic communication
  • idioms
