Dear English Dept. Faculty,

We're again scheduling three Thursday faculty lunches this term for anyone who would welcome an hour of conviviality towards the end of a hectic work week.

The dates we're proposing are February 17, March 17, and April 7, from 12:30-1:30 in the Faculty Lounge.  Straddling the hour seemed to work out well last term, permitting those with commitments either beginning or ending at 1:00 also to join in for at least part of the time.

 

For those who weren't able to attend a lunch last term, these are entirely informal social affairs catered, buffet-style, by good local restaurants. Vegetarian options are available. The typical attendance has been 10-15, and the conversation lively and footnote-free.

 

To simplify the book keeping, we're again asking that you let us know ahead of time which lunches you'd like to attend, and that you pay Kaye Curren for all of these together up front.  The cost is $10 / lunch;  please let us know your plans and leave a check or cash in the correct amount with Kaye by Friday, February 4.

 

(Because we need to make the catering arrangements well in advance, we'll unfortunately not be able to provide refunds.)
