Financial Aid Support for Graduate Students in the
PhD in English and Education Program


Graduate Student Instructorships: Students in each doctoral program are normally offered four years of support as Graduate Student Instructors in writing and literature courses. For 2007-2008, these appointments carry a stipend of $15198. for two terms, as well as tuition and full health care benefits.

Other English and Education Fellowship Support: In addition to Instructorships, graduate students are also eligible to be considered for School of Education Merit Awards (a teaching and research assistantship in the School of Education) and Rackham Regents' Fellowships.

Rackham Merit Fellowships for Historically Underrepresented Groups: Michigan actively supports outstanding minority students.
