Bio: 

Michael North is Professor of English at the University of California, Los Angeles. His most recent books are Camera Works: Photography and the Twentieth-Century Word (Oxford, 2005), Reading 1922: A Return to the Scene of the Modern (Oxford, 1999) and the Norton Critical Edition of T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land (2001).
