Bio:

Brenda R. Silver, Mary Brinsmead Wheelock Professor at Dartmouth College, works in the areas of modernism, postmodernism, and cyberculture.  Her publications include Virginia Woolf Icon, Virginia Woolf's Reading Notebooks, and Rape and Representation (with Lynn Higgins), as well as essays on topics ranging from Charlotte Brontë and E.M. Forster to hypertext, textual editing as feminist practice, the authority of anger, and mailing lists as virtual publics.  Her current project, tentatively entitled Small Talk/New Networks, explores the role of computer-mediated communication in redefining literary and cultural discourses.
